When I was having Oz, a lovely psychologist came to the room and visited while Steve was getting fluids down in daybeds. She said they were concerned about my post-partum depression screening tool. I said that I would be concerned if I weren't feeling a little bad. After hearing our story, she agreed.
I decided that counseling may not be a bad idea...so I went for an appointment today. The receptionist gave me the new patient paperwork, and I quickly completed it since I had only gotten there five minutes before the appointment time. I was a little fatigued and just not thinking. Looking down at my newly completed paperwork, I took the few steps over to her desk and passed the clipboard over the desk to her...
SLAMMING my hand and clipboard obnoxiously into the plexiglass barrier that separated us and startling everyone including me!
I laughed and asked her if anyone else had ever done that. She said yes...but I had a feeling it was a 'no'. I felt like that dumb little bird who flies into the sliding glass door and lies stunned on the cement. :)
Thumbs up to counseling!! You take care of everyone else; don't forget about yourself. Miss you, Debbie! Hope the little ones are letter you sleep some :)
ReplyDeleteHi Allyson. Miss you, too. You know...I feel like I am getting the same amount of sleep as I have for months now. Someday, I will sleep for an entire eight or ten hours. I can't even imagine how awesome that would be. :) I hope you and your family are doing well!
