The night we found out that we were having a boy, we opened up a gift box that revealed the gender. We were happy to find out...and also a little sad about our new life-threatening situation.
Daddy had already had one chemotherapy session by this time and had two hospitalizations. He picked up the glove that Stephanie had given us for you, Ozzy, and he began crying. I think he knew what a fight it would be to meet you.
I looked at you and Poppy today and could not imagine how different our lives would be if your Daddy was still here with us. Truly, you are the sweetest little boy. I thought that Poppy was extremely smiley and happy, but you have constant smiles and giggles.
One of Steve's band mates dropped by today and brought his adorable four year old granddaughter. She was taken with you, too. Even other children know that you are special.
You are a delight...a bit slobbery...but a delight. We both love you very much, kiddo.
Your Daddy would have done anything to stay here and see you grow up.

What a sweet letter to your boy about his dad. A love letter/story indeed.
