My Aunt Sandy and Uncle Grant were in town. It was really good to see them. We hadn't visited since March...and March was so crazy, it may have been last August or September before that. Like so many members of my family and friend force, they just pitched in and helped how they could...grabbing a baby, cleaning up poop, putting together bookshelves. Perhaps appreciated most...they never once gave an indication that they noticed my sometimes-incompetence with housework or parenting.
I think I've mentioned before, but I was born in Canada and lived there until the age of 13. Steve got up to Canada with me once...2010. I've told stories about that visit, and he had a great time. But then again, he had fun wherever he went, I think.
I'm glad we got a chance to visit so many of our aunts and uncles over our eight years...Uncle Bud and Aunt Margaret in Seneca Falls...Uncle Dick and Aunt Becky in Goshen...Uncle Grant and Aunt Sandy in Kitchener...Uncle Steve and Aunt Cinda in Lodi...and almost a visit to Pierre to see Aunt Linda and Roger (How I wish we would have made the trip!).
Steve loved family. He got along very well with Sandy and Grant. Of course, I wish he could have been here this weekend. It would have been perfect.

The best line of this post? "But then again, he had fun where ever he went, I think." What a wonderful element to have...and to pass on to his children.
