A bit of background...I have soooo many allergies to antibiotics. Healthcare providers tell me that they don't really have many more options for me.
I'd never had a surgery before my Poppy C-section and was convinced I would die when given IV antibiotics that day. Paranoid? Absolutely.
I must have been very convincing in my convictions about a bad outcome, because Steve was extremely nervous before my C-section and began carrying a laminated card with all of my allergies listed.
Before the double mastectomy in August, I was still certain that things could and would go horribly wrong, so I wrote out all usernames and passwords on every financial account we had to make things easier on Steve and Poppy. I know...I know...I have never said I am without issues.
And this surgery...
Well, this time, I was a little more gutsy...still a teeny bit nervous...but kind of like Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump. Bring it, World!
So anyhow...I am still kickin' it...obviously...but something strange really does seem to happen every time I ingest an antibiotic. Most times, I am prepared for yucky rashes and hives and once they begin, it quickly spirals out of control until my entire body is itchy and uncomfortable. Awesome.
But for both of my breast surgeries something new and embarrassingly weird has happened though...here are some pictures for your amusement...
