Mommy Fail yesterday.

I went to pick up the kids from daycare.  Poppy ran to me and hugged me for the longest time.  We looked at her art together and then went to get Oz.  Oz was still running a low-grade fever, was crying pretty hard and, to my surprise, was dressed rather...flamboyantly.

I've never been one to buy into gender stereotypes and having to put Oz in "BOY" clothes and Poppy in "GIRL" clothes.  It makes me giggle when parents have to pierce their daughter's ears so that people know they are a female...or won't let their little boys play with dolls.  I really don't care about those things.

But pink-striped shorts were even a little much for me.  And putting two varying stripe patterns together was not working for his style at all.

When I walked up to him, his teacher apologized for the "short shorts", which served to reinforce my fear that he looked like he was dressed by an uncaring Mommy :).  Apparently he had massive diarrhea and soiled his back-up outfit.  I snatched him up and hurriedly delivered him out to the car.  As I passed by other Moms, I apologetically nodded to them saying, "Diarrhea Outfit...I wouldn't have dressed him this way."

More back-up outfits will be placed in his cubbie tomorrow.

  1. I laughed hysterically over the diarrhea outfit, I'm sorry, you are too funny. Your children are beyond adorable. Love you, Becky Wiley
