My precious babies spent an awesome weekend with Nonny, Pop and Uncle Jeffrey in Bloomington. Poppy is still talking about going to the park! By next summer, I bet both of them will be tearing around the driveway on their new vehicles -- a tricycle and a Big Wheel.
I went down to Santa Claus, Indiana and the Jasper area to spend a bit of time with some of Michael's family. His brother's family owns a pot-bellied pig! I thought that the pig, Pumba, and I were getting along pretty well. His little snout was just adorable! All of a sudden, he bit my big toe. It just startled me more than anything. I'm hoping it was more of a love nip than a malicious thing, but you never know. I also met several other family members...his Mom, Dad, sister-in-law, niece...everyone was so nice and very easy to talk to.
It was a blast to spend a bit more time in the car with his children (minus one), as well. It gave me a glimpse of the preteen years. I had lots of fun and laughed a bunch. And the best news? I am so much more hip about current music now! You would never know my true age!
The whole car ride reminded me of all of those years that Cin, Bren and I were stuffed into the back of our vehicle for a road trip. Fortunately, we always made Brenda take the hump, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
I just had to share a few of the pictures I received from Uncle Jeff. It is so hard to be away from the kids for very long, yet I also know it is good for both them and me. And look at these smiles!
