The Story About Proper Terminology

Steve and I agreed on a lot of parenting things, but some things I will have to think about more to decide whether I'll go with his leaning or my own.

Ok, so here's one of our disagreements, for example...

Steve told me that he was very bothered when adults told kids that a pregnant woman had a baby in her belly.  He said that it was important to tell them that the baby was in her uterus.

So there you have it.  My dilemma :).

Besides being a lot of information, I think the word 'uterus' is kind of gross.

Although...maybe that was Steve's point...

Maybe if my folks would have used the word 'uterus' around the house, I wouldn't be so weirded out about it.

You'll have to cut me a break though.  The only class I ever got a C in...EVER...was a health type of class.  And in particular, I recall performing especially poorly on a quiz that was just two pieces of paper...one with the female reproductive system...one with a man's.  All I had to do was label things.

I got a point for the Fallopian tubes.  I was able to pick those out.  That was about it.

Yeah...I might just stick with 'tummy' for a while.  I will mull it over.

Here I am with a baby in my uterus.  Yucky.
