April 14, 2016

Today was exhausting from sun up to sun down.  I am wiped out.

My favorite thing I did today was pick up Poppy and Oz from school.  When Oz looks up and spots me, he has the happiest look on his face and then Poppy yells, "MOMMY!"  I'm afraid it might be selfish, but it's nice to have people so stoked to see me.

I really didn't mind the infant-stage at all, but there is something cool about toddlers who can reciprocate love.

After dinner, we went on a walk.  The weather was really nice.  Oz got in a teeny, much-needed nap, and Poppy was excited to pick dandelions.  We looked at flowers, saw doggies and went by the soccer fields to see the kids.

We also tried to find bugs, since that is Poppy's theme in her classroom this week.  We saw a bug in the house last night.  I normally take care of things like that swiftly with a shoe and Kleenex.  I felt guilty since it's Bug Week though, and I knew what Steve would do if he was here.  So while Poppy got all up in my grill to see what I was doing, I urged the bug to climb onto a book and then delivered it outside the door.  Yuckers.  I'm sure we'll see that bug again pretty soon.  If he was smart enough to get in here once, he'll figure it out again.

Once we were back from our walk, everybody had some milk and then it was bedtime.  Poppy has started saying, "Night, night, Oz.  See you later."  Then she blows him a kiss.  It's pretty sweet.
