Who'd have thought that I would become (and remain) friends with Steve's Home Health Nurse, Kevin and his wife, Lynn? Seems like I've known them for a long, long time...in actuality, I met Kevin on Christmas Eve, the first time Steve needed Home Health, and about 60 days later our visits with him in an official capacity ended.
Kevin and Lynn met me at my storage unit with a truck and huge trailer at 8am. They helped me empty the storage unit and went to Irvington with me to retrieve the large items from the house. Those two lifted heavy furniture for seven hours today!
In the meantime, Brenda and Megan held down the fort at the condo for an appointment scheduled there. A bit embarrassed to admit, but I can't imagine going long without Internet anymore! And my mom watched some babies again today to allow me to work.
I'm excited that this will soon be wrapping up, but also a bit apprehensive. I've been keeping so busy...it will be strange to do 'regular people things' again soon...watch movies, blow bubbles, go to the pool...I hope I don't have too much time on my hands to think.
You need some time for some 'regular' things. This is the way we regain our sanity. In regards to Steve's Home Health Care nurse...well, he is helping you with your new home and in doing so is aiding in your mental health. So...I guess Kevin and Lynn are still home health nurse(s) and now, dear friends. Pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI was really sad when Dave died, but was too busy to really grieve. That hit later, when things calmed down. The good news is that you have those sweet babies to keep you busy and cheerful, and exhausted! You will have those "socked in the gut" feelings, but you will get through them.
