August 2, 2016

Today my co-worker, Donna, said something that reminded me of a funny moment a long time ago.

Steve would get so tickled when I would say something crazy off-the-cuff.  I guess that occasionally I just break out with something completely random and unexpected.

We were making one of our fun weekend runs to the store to purchase items for renovating the house.  As we entered into Kmart, there was a woman at a table directly in front of us.  Judging by the bad family photos in picture frames cluttering her space, she was hawking photography packages to their in-house studio.

As I quickly tried to breeze by without making eye contact, Kind Stephen got reeled in.  As she began her spiel, she held up a very-posed 11x14 picture of a perfectly blonde family in an old-fashioned wooden frame.

"We have a great special going on today!  If you buy the package, you get this free portrait!" she exclaimed, enthusiastically waving the blonde family at us.  "Are you interested?"

In a split second, I smoothly replied, "No, we aren't interested.  We don't even know them!" I grabbed Steve's arm and quickly pulled him with me, leaving her flabbergasted and sputtering and trailing off that the picture would be of us...not...them...

And Steve laughed all the way throughout the entire store, and for several days after that he would crack up at the shocked look on her face.  I enjoyed making him laugh.
